Work House Coffee

Work House Coffee -Reading

Cost: Cheap
Rating: 4.8/5

My Friend Amber recommended this place and I’m so glad she did. The exterior isn’t the only thing that is charming about this place. The inside is warm and welcoming, and the staff reflect this too.

I was initially overwhelmed at how many options there were, but I eventually plucked up the courage to ask the barista for her recommendation. Instead of fobbing me off (as has been the case with so many coffee shops in the past), or just telling me what sells well, she asks what flavours I like and how I take my coffee. From there, she makes her recommendation based on the fact that I like my coffee rather strong with some milk. She goes on to tell me a bit about the business and how the owner is a huge coffee enthusiast. The barista goes on to tell me there are approximately 17 different blends (oh Mumma!) and the owner is often experimenting with new blends.

The variety of quality coffee options and the knowledge of the staff really mirrors the passion this owner clearly has for the product.

Work House Coffee has the combination of friendly staff, knowledge of the product and quality of the product creates a fantastic coffee experience. I took an americano to go (and a latte for my friend).

Overall, very impressed by this coffee shop. I didn’t sit down in the shop, so can’t comment on table service or atmosphere in the shop, this is solely a reflection on first impressions, service received and the product itself. Can’t give the full 5 stars as I’m unsure of the table service. Next time I’m in Reading, I’ll be sure to take 5 minutes and sit down.
